Earlier this week I posted I was reading “The Elements of Content Strategy”. The first chapter was interesting. It was about setting clear goals for the things you do (in this case I used it for the plans I’m making for a new website) and about describing things in a clear way that really tells what makes you different than other designers/photographers. So instead of saying “I make photos of bands”, use a more accurate description of what I really do and want to achieve: “I want to convince bands, with creative photography and original presentations and design, that visuals are still very important in the music industry”.

So the first chapter was very interesting but after that I kind of lost it and it became sort of a blur of things I didn’t understand. Not that it’s a bad book but the 2nd and 3rd chapter are more for content editors & strategists than photographers..

So I moved on to the next book in the Book Apart Series which I thought could be interesting:

I finished the first chapters and this book seems really interesting for me. Especially now I’m working on a new design for my website and because I want to do more with presentation & promotion for bands. The book gives inspiration of how to communicate your idea’s in a clear but personal way.

Omdat ik mijn weblog actiever wil maken ben ik bezig met het bedenken van terugkerende onderwerpen voor artikelen. Ik wil ook meer van mijn proces laten zien in de vorm van inspiratiebeelden, dagelijkse dingen die mij inspireren, work in progress, artikelen die mij interesseren, etc.

Zelf doe ik veel met natuur in mijn foto’s en ik vind het interessant om te zien hoe andere kunstenaars met dit onderwerp om gaan.

Nature is a returning element in lot of my photos. I find it interesting to see how other artist use nature in their work.

What’s better than buying a great product which also has a great package? I want to do more with packaging aswell.
