I want to start some new categories on my blog I want to write about every week or month. One of them is the product category where I want to show product brands I like. This week I want to show the products of the Danish brand Hay. I like Hay for their colourful but simple designs. They use simple geometric forms and patterns. The other thing I like about them is how their photography matches their products. In their photos they cleverly use colour, shapes and composition to display their products. The combination of their photography and products is what makes their brand stand out.

Last week I searched pinterest for inspiration about product styling

“uit de oude doos” is a dutch expression which means things from the past.
In this category I want to show photos I made some years ago.
Recently I’v been thinking about what I want to do with my photography and how I can find new clients. I want to start some new projects aimed at showing some skills I have which I can offer to possible clients. One of these things is Product Photography. In the coming weeks I want to make make a short series where I make styling arrangement of products I own and make some interesting photos of them. When I was looking for inspiration I stumbled upon this photo I made some years ago. It was an assignment for my photography study where I had to make an interesting photo with glass.

Seems like nature can’t make up her mind whether it’s winter or spring..
Can’t wait for spring..
This morning the sun was shining, the snow was melting and I was really looking forward to spring, flowers, sunlight. But then the sky turned grey and it started to rain… I think I still have to wait another month for better weather.

Today is the opening of my exhibition at Niek Braun in Beverwijk! The opening takes place from 17.00 till 19.00 this afternoon (5 feb).
After that the exhibition is open until the end of march on workdays from 10.00 to 17.00.
